About Giannis

Giannis is a Greek architect, distinguished in the field of single-family home design and specializing in the area of small-scale residential design in general.

Additional areas of research interest of his include the design of prefabricated housing systems and especially the design of disaster relief, transitional and social housing prototypes.

He is the developer of SDFD (Structural Density - First Design), a design approach for producing prefabricated buildings more cost-effectively. 

Notable distinctions:

  • His first ever building was shortlisted for the highest architectural Award in Greece; the quadrennial Award of the Greek Institute of Architecture. At the time he was the youngest architect to ever achieve that distinction.

  • He was selected by the municipality of Acharnes - Athens to represent the city in the Bloomberg Mayors' Challenge competition for urban innovation, with his work "Kinetic Library" - a novel system for creating lightweight, prefabricated library units.
